CEO of WAN-IFRA, the World Association of News Publishers, for thirteen years, I founded Syndeai in 2026, a boutique consultancy that provides hands-on support to media companies seeking expert, personalised, high-quality guidance grounded in international best practice.

I have since joined Prisa Media - publisher of El País, Diario AS, Cinco Días, Cadena SER, and LOS40 in Spain, as well as Caracol Radio, W Radio, and ADN Radio in Latin America - as a member of the Board of Directors and advisor to the President and CEO. I also work with the French media group EBRA, where I lead "La République des Lecteurs" ("The Readers' Republic") - a media lab established by the Institut Mutualiste pour l’Environnement et la Solidarité, with support from Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale. Through research, experimentation, and public debate, the Lab aims to improve information quality, develop critical thinking, and strengthen democratic practices. Additionally, I have the pleasure of exploring new ways to support the news industry with Cafeyn Group, the leading digital newsstand, which serves about 2.5 million users and provides access to more than 5,200 publications worldwide.

WHY SYNDEAI

Derived from the Greek syndein, meaning "to bind together", the brand syndeai evokes connection, trust, and unification, as well as the bringing together of diverse stakeholders and disciplines. These are aspirations I have consistently pursued throughout my career, and which are being amplified by the advancement of artificial intelligence.

This practice is founded on an extensive international career working with a global network of news publishers. Drawing on three decades of steering complex organisations, my strategic and organisational advisory work blends boardroom practicality with hands-on execution.
